About the role

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the Post-Checkout Experience capability on our core commerce platform. Your initial focus will be within the Orders Management and Returns space, with the opportunity to grow leadership over other areas of the platform. By accomplishing this, you will help strengthen BigCommerce’s market position as the leading eCommerce platform for fast-growing Mid-Market & Enterprise retailers around the world.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the product strategy for the Post-Checkout Experience (order management, order fulfillment & returns) and identify new problems and opportunities where we can partner/build/buy to improve this 
  • Roll up your sleeves and get deep into the day-to-day running of multiple high performing Agile teams.
  • Define user/job stories that effectively capture customers’ problem statements, partner opportunities and solutions
  • You will enthusiastically lead your team (of developers, product designers, and quality engineers) towards the product vision
  • Define success metrics for your product area, and drive alignment for all product efforts to those measures
  • Motivate and influence senior leadership, key stakeholders, drive buy-in for your ideas, and tell exceptional stories around why and what we should build
  • Further the product management craft at BigCommerce. Take a player-coach role and get your hands dirty in improving our global PM’s product instincts and capabilities.

You’ll need to have:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Product Manager at a modern tech and/or SaaS company
  • Passion for commerce & online retail. 
  • Experience leading the definition, building and shipping of complex products at scale
  • A talent for storytelling. You can inspire and rally teams to solve complex problems. You can influence key stakeholders, driving buy-in for your ideas and telling stories around why and what you’re building for our customers
  • Strong analytical skills. You use data to successfully inform your decision-making to  track and measure your OKRs and outcomes.
  • Empathy for the merchant and genuine excitement for solving merchant problems.
  • Results-oriented mindset. You are able to set clear goals, prioritize them and drive to execute against them.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders as well as external partners to bring the core platform vision to reality.
  • Grit & resilience. Challenges present themselves. You stay cool under pressure and you persist through them until the solution is found, bringing your team along the journey and encouraging them along the way.

Nice to have: 

  • Past experience in SaaS products and platforms.
  • Past technical experience working with platforms, APIs (REST and/or GraphQL)
  • An engineering background (previous experience engineering solutions/products ).
  • Experience with popular Order Management Systems (e.g. Netsuite, Fluent Commerce, Comestri, Acumatica, Salesforce Order Management, Skubana, StitchLabs) and Returns Experience solutions (e.g. Happy Returns, Aftership, Loop, Returnly)
